about the artist
Lauren Greer first developed her passion for photography as a mother intent on capturing the moods and emotions of her children. After several years of photographing her children and others, she looked beyond the faces and saw the view. “I love the variations of light and how it dazzles an ordinary landscape as easily as it shines on the picturesque.”
For many years she has concentrated on refining her craft in the darkroom, printing black and white silver gelatin prints. Her work in silver gelatin and hand tinting especially reveals her skill as an artist.
The daughter of a two-star general and fighter pilot, she has lived and traveled extensively throughout the world. Yet she finds that the landscape, characters and history of her adopted Texas provide an endless wealth of photographic opportunity.
Chris Regas, a renowned fine art and commercial photographer whose career has spanned more than five decades, says, “Lauren exhibits total passion. She is creative, curious, skilled and dedicated to her work.”
Her work has been exhibited at The 14th Street Gallery in Plano, Texas.
Lauren lives in Dallas, Texas, with her husband and three beautiful daughters, all proud seventh-generation Texans.
